Currently Reading

Look here what I'm planning to read:

I'm currently reading Assassin's fate by Robin Hobb. This is the third book in The Fitz and The Fool trilogy and the sixteenth book in The realm of the elderlings series. I'm reading this for the second time. This is an adult fantasy book.

This book is going to destroy me, but I think I'm ready enough for it. This might be my favorite book in the series, so I'm going to confirm that whilst reading. This is probably going to be a slow read, but that's okay, I really want to savor it.

I'm currently reading Bookshops and bonedust by Travis Baldree. This is the prequel in the Legends and lattes series. I'm reading this for the third time. I'm reading an owned copy whilst listening to the audiobook. Reading it as a buddy read. This is an adult fantasy book with LGBTQ+ characters.

I love this book so much. Immediately when I started it, I had a huge smile on my face. I really love how the author describes everything, I really feel like I'm in the story. I also loves how he narrates the book, just love his voice.

I'm currently reading Our share of night by Mariana Enriquez. I'm reading the ebook. Reading this one, because I'm in the mood for horror and I wanted a longer ebook to read. This is an adult literary horror book with LGBTQ+ characters.

I'm really enjoying this so far. The set up is very intriguing. I like the main character so far and I like the spooky vibes. I am curious when the LGBTQ+ aspect is coming in, because so far there is nothing, but I'm not far into it at all. Glad I picked this up, it has been on my tbr for a while.

I'm currently reading Deeplight by Frances Hardinge. I'm reading an owned copy whilst listening to the audiobook. This is my third time reading this book. Reading this one for a buddy read. This is a young adult fantasy book.

Was really in the mood to read this again and I'm glad I picked this up. I still find this a very fascinating story. What I especially love about this book is the writing style. It's so beautiful and so well done. Absolutely love it.

On Pause

I'm currently reading Never flinch by Stephen King. This is the fourth (but I would argue seventh) book in the Holly Gibney series. I'm reading a Dutch copy from the library whilst listening to the audiobook. I'm reading this for my Series TBR and Authors TBR. This is an adult thriller book with horror elements.

I'm not really enjoying this one so far. It feels a bit chaotic, especially with a certain perspective that is added and I don't understand why it is added. This one also feels political, it feels like the author is very much sharing his opinions on certain topics in this one. I don't really mind that all of the time, but it feels a bit too heavy handed in this one, especially with the randomly added perspective. At this point I don't have the motivation to continue, but I might, because I do still like Holly as a character.

I'm currently reading Gardens of the moon by Steven Erikson. This is the first book in the Malazan book of the fallen series. I'm reading an owned copy. Reading this one for a buddy read. This is an adult fantasy book.

So far I'm really liking the writing style. It is good, but not too difficult, which is nice. I like the set up of the story. It is a bit chaotic at the moment however. I hope we get more structure soon, so I can follow it better.

I'm currently reading The halcyon fairy book by T. Kingfisher. I'm reading the ebook. Reading this for my 2025 reading goal of reading new(ish) genres. Also reading this for my Authors TBR. This is an adult fantasy book in short stories format.

The start of this book is fairy tales that the author has added commentary to. The fairy tales are just fine, but the commentary is very entertaining to read. So really enjoying it! Can't wait to get to the short stories written by the author.

I'm currently reading A bookshop of one's own by Jane Cholmeley. I'm listening to the audiobook. This has been on my downloaded audiobooks list for a while, so deciced to finally pick this up. This is an adult memoir with feminism elements and about LGBTQ+ people.

Liking this very much so far! I always love books about bookshops. I really like that we see how the bookshop was opened, all the different parts to that. I do hope we get more about the work in the bookshop, that is always the most fun part for me.
