Currently Reading

Look here what I'm planning to read:

I'm currently reading Love that story by Jonathan Van Ness. I'm listening to the audiobook. Reading this for my Authors TBR. This is an adult memoir in essay format with LGBTQ+ themes.

Loving this so far. I really love the audiobook, since Jonathan narrates it themself. I really like all the observations he is talking about. Learning some things and it definitely makes me think. Really appreciate Jonathan for being so vulnerable and sharing so much.

I'm currently reading Sweep of the heart by Ilona Andrews. This is the fifth and final book in the Innkeeper chronicles series. I'm reading the ebook. This is an adult science fiction fantasy book.

This book is quite a bit longer than the other books in the series, which is very exciting. I'm sad that this is the last book in the series. I'm very curious how the book will go, since we have a lot of open mysteries. The start of the book was already amazing and I love the set up of the plotline so far.

I'm currently reading Someone you can build a nest in by John Wiswell. I'm reading a copy from the library. This has been on my tbr for a while and was very excited that my library has it. Reading this for spooky season. This is an adult horror book with a romance and fantasy elements with LGBTQ+ characters.

Loving this so far! It's very gruesome and loving that. I also really love all the characters and the set up of the story. This might be a big win.

I'm currently reading Deeplight by Frances Hardinge. I'm reading an owned copy whilst listening to the audiobook. This is my third time reading this book. Reading this one for a buddy read. This is a young adult fantasy book.

Was really in the mood to read this again and I'm glad I picked this up. I still find this a very fascinating story. What I especially love about this book is the writing style. It's so beautiful and so well done. Absolutely love it.

On Pause

I'm currently reading The buffalo hunter hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. I'm reading an owned copy whilst listening to the audiobook. Reading this for spooky season. This is an adult horror in a historical setting with fantasy elements.

This audiobook is great, I would highly recommend it. It's full cast. I am glad I also have the owned copy, because a certain perspective would have been too difficult to follow for me otherwise. Very intrigued so far by the story and I'm excited to see where it goes.

I'm currently reading Assassin's fate by Robin Hobb. This is the third book in The Fitz and The Fool trilogy and the sixteenth book in The realm of the elderlings series. I'm reading this for the second time. This is an adult fantasy book.

This book is going to destroy me, but I think I'm ready enough for it. This might be my favorite book in the series, so I'm going to confirm that whilst reading. This is probably going to be a slow read, but that's okay, I really want to savor it.

I'm currently reading The halcyon fairy book by T. Kingfisher. I'm reading the ebook. Reading this for my 2025 reading goal of reading new(ish) genres. Also reading this for my Authors TBR. This is an adult fantasy book in short stories format.

The start of this book is fairy tales that the author has added commentary to. The fairy tales are just fine, but the commentary is very entertaining to read. So really enjoying it! Can't wait to get to the short stories written by the author.

I'm currently reading A bookshop of one's own by Jane Cholmeley. I'm listening to the audiobook. This has been on my downloaded audiobooks list for a while, so deciced to finally pick this up. This is an adult memoir with feminism elements and about LGBTQ+ people.

Liking this very much so far! I always love books about bookshops. I really like that we see how the bookshop was opened, all the different parts to that. I do hope we get more about the work in the bookshop, that is always the most fun part for me.
